From the Office of the Chaplain April 3, 2020 Most of the time the duties of the chaplain are called upon after the death of a loved one however, duties also include watching over fellow firefighters and first responders.

Monthly training for February was RIT pack and SCBA drills. First Interior firefighters did a mock search and rescue of a downed firefighter. Second drill was having a firefighter remove his SCBA from his back and slide through the runs of a ladder while still hooked to air.

The West Stockholm Fire Department would like to thank Dan Stark for his generous donation of a wood fire department flag that he hand crafted and engraved in memory of Chief Robert E. White Jr. The flag is currently on display at the Fire Station.

Monthly training was held at St Lawrence Central School. Brasher Winthrop invited West Stockholm to train on their new 100ft ladder truck. West Stockholm members learned how to operate and flow water out of the basket.

Back again for the 2020 calendar year, the West Stockholm Fire Department is once again selling their lotto calendars that year after year continues to be our biggest fundraising effort towards the volunteer services that we provide.

The West Stockholm Volunteer Fire Department recently held its Annual Golf fundraiser at the Meadowbrook Golf Course in Stockholm. The tournament saw teams from throughout the county with the team of Bernie Adams, Matt Webster, Zach Richardson and Dave Richardson taking top honors.

On Wednesday May 15, West Stockholm and Norfolk Fire held a joint extrication training at Norfolk Station 1. This was a good opportunity for members from both departments to become familiar with each others equipment and gave a chance for members from both departments to work together.

Before May's monthly meeting, member participated in a short training session at the department's draft site in Sandfordville. Members refreshed on drafting operations with Engine 88 while supply both the portable deck gun and the skid unit on R-47.

On Saturday April 27 the West Stockholm Fire department held its Annual Banquet for its members and the Ladies Auxiliary at the Parishville Fire Hall. Approximately 80 people attending including several honor roll members and members of our surrounding mutual aid departments.
